Recently, SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid of the U.S. ESP2100mm endless continue casting tandem rolling mill project of Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH. The main objects of this project contain F1-F5 finishing mill, on-line and part bearing block, pendulum shear, flying shear and 3 coilers (including pinch rolls), with the total weight of over 3,800 tons. The Poland 2250mm hot continuous rolling mill cooperated by the two parties is the first Chinese complete metallurgical equipment exported to Europe, as well as the first export in the history of heavy machine industry in China.

Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH (referred to as PTAT) is a global joint venture in metallurgical industry, founded by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and SIEMENS. It has advantages in steel making, continuous casting, hot rolling and cold rolling and is regarded as the leading enterprise in the global metallurgical industry. SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. has cooperated with PTAT for more than 10 years. The owner of the project in this cooperation is the USS Corporation located in Braddock, Pennsylvania.

Leaders of SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. attached great importance to the bid work of this project and established a special work group led by the head of Business Department. At the early stage, the bid and quotation group actively communicated with EHEC and gained the great support and active cooperation of leaders, technology and marketing departments in EHEC. Through rigorous bid plan and quotation calculation, as well as 5 arduous business negotiations, SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. finally obtained more than 90% of bidding shares and hard-earned order shares. In the depressed market of metallurgical industry, winning the bid of this project takes a solid step for the implementation of the strategy “synergistic development of technology, industry and trade, utilizing the driving force of international cooperation” proposed by SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. and EHEC.

This cooperation with PTAT is an important cooperation on the complete equipment after the Poland 2250mm hot continuous rolling mill project and India JSL1800mm hot continuous rolling mill project, and it is the concrete and effective implementation of the strategic cooperation intention agreed by Li Juncheng, the General Manager of EHEC, Li Guangtian, the Vice-general Manager of SINOMACH-HE Chengdu Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., and senior executives of the PTAT head office in London in May this year.
